Environment

One of CONICA's major concerns is to guarantee the highest environmental compatibility of their products. This starts at the planning phase for new developments, as well as the continued improvement of existing our products. For this reason we, in principle, reject the use of any heavy metal containing pigments or organic compounds with halogen substituents in our formulations and try to use, whenever possible, natural renewable raw materials.

Our single and two component polyurethane products exhibit an exactly defined composition. During the curing process all reactive ingredients react completely in a polyaddition reaction. After curing, all CONIPUR systems are free from volotile substances, which is especially important for indoor sports surfaces. Gaseous substances, well known in other types of sports hall materials, are excluded, eliminating any risk to the end user. CONICA is proud of its long history of problem free usage of CONIPUR polyurethanes for indoor and outdoor applications.

CONIPUR sports surfacing systems are of extremely high quality and exhibit long life expectancy. They can easily be repaired and, should it be necessary  after many, many years of use, they can  usually be re-topped,  without the necessity to remove the old surface. In order to obtain an entirely new sports surface, the existing surface is simply covered with a new thin coat of CONIPUR coating. This keeps both costs and environmental impact to a minimum.

A multitude of certificates from independent accredited test institutes proves the high environmental compatibility of CONIPUR sports surfaces.

Since 2003 CONICA has held EN  ISO 14001.
