Powell close to World record – Bolt equals meeting record
Asafa Powell had a fantastic comeback in Lausanne running the second fastest time in history. The Jamaican won the 100 m race in front of 14,300 spectators in the sold out Olympic Stadium in a fantastic time of 9.72.
His compatriot Usain Bolt, triple sprint Olympic champion and World record holder in the 100 m and 200 m, won the 200 m race easily running incredible 19.63 sec. The 1.96 m tall Jamaican equalled the meeting record of American Xavier Carter of 2006.
